Pastor of Young Adults and Worship

South Park Baptist Church, Alvin TX is proud to welcome a vibrant new leader onto our team to continue to build our young adult ministry (18-29 years old), lead the Baptist Student Ministries (BSM) at Alvin Community College (ACC), and help lead our weekly worship experience. We are a congregation who spans four generations and loves to worship in a way that takes advantage of creative new songs as well as the rich tradition of hymns set to contemporary instrumentation.

The duties of the Pastor of Young Adults include:
  • Teaching and leading worship for the Tuesday night young adult gathering
  • Overseeing the Sunday Morning Bible Study classes for this age range
  • Arranging events for young adults throughout the year
  • Coordinating with ACC for all BSM events
  • Being present on ACC’s campus to reach out to students
  • Leading the monthly BSM gathering at ACC
  • Coordinating with other area churches to provide lunch for the BSM at ACC (We desire that the work with BSM is Kingdom focused and connects students to other area churches as well)
  • Pastor young adults through conversations at the office or in a more informal setting such as a coffee shop
The duties of the Worship Pastor entail:
  • Planning Sunday morning worship services 
  • Recruiting and working with new worship team members
  • Researching and introducing new songs
  • Rehearsing with the worship team (currently on Sunday morning)
  • Leading worship on Sunday mornings
  • Overseeing the tech team 
  • Keeping up with the church’s audio/visual needs
  • Setting the slides in Pro Presenter for the Sunday Morning Service
  • Assist in planning/participating in the occasional special event at church
  • Coordinate with the choir director (the choir currently sings up to 10 times a year)
  • Coordinate with the children’s music program
Other duties include:
  • Attending weekly Staff meetings
  • Participating in the annual budget process.
  • Being available to perform all ministerial duties such as Baptism, Lord’s Supper, teaching, and hospital visitation, when needed
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Pastor that contribute to the administration and life of the Church
